will be held on April 17th, 2021. Registration is open.

We are delighted to introduce our new director for NDWKC, Jami Robben. Jami has a deep passion for dance and bringing the community together. Click on the links below to register.

Dancers of all ages, disciplines, and levels join together to present a day of free dance performances for the public at the annual National Dance Week Kansas City event. We are celebrating the joy of dance together, from studios to universities to professional companies to independent choreographers. Over 40 groups will present their original works in genres including ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, aerial, Pushpunjali, Latino, Egyptian, Mongolian, Irish Step, salsa and bellydance.

Come and go as you can, or stay all day. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and join us for this one-of-a-kind opportunity to see a huge variety of dance all in one place, for free!

National Dance Week Foundation’s mission is “To expose and introduce as many people as possible to the enjoyment and benefits of dance thru promoting dance in schools, expanding community awareness, and increasing professional development.” We are extremely excited to produce this event as their mission lines up very well with VidaDance’s own mission to make dance accessible to everyone.

In 2017, VidaDance launched a program for this event called Catalyst. Catalyst is designed to give young or independent choreographers 18 years or older an opportunity to create and showcase their work. These producers may not be very established, may not have promotional videos, or may not yet have been able to choreograph, rehearse, and film a piece they want to produce for National Dance Week, so Catalyst will provide them with an opportunity to showcase their work without requiring those things in advance. Catalyst also provides affordable rehearsal space with a sprung dance floor, and even choreography mentoring if desired.

If you would like to promote your studio or company during the event, we have several sponsorship options to choose from on the registration form. If you are not a dance organization, but would like to help sponsor the event, please follow the “Sponsorships” link below.
